Recommended Audio and Video Equipment

With so much variety in the types of recording equipment out there for video and audio, we know it can get overwhelming! To help you choose, we have gathered feedback from our instructors and compiled this list of the most popular equipment for recording lectures.

Recommended video equipment

Remember that your videos must be in 720p HD to pass our Quality Review Process. For more information about our Video Quality Standards. Here are a few cameras we recommend to record your lectures:

  • Your iPhone (iPhone 4 models and above)
  • Your iPad (iPad 2 models and above)
  • Many webcams
  • HD Flip cameras
  • Go Pro cameras
  • Most DSLR cameras

If you have a camera already — whether it's a mobile phone, a computer, a video camera, a DSLR camera or some other video capture device (especially if we listed it above), check your system preferences or do a quick Google search to check. Simply search for the name of the product and the resolution it shoots. If it can shoot up to 1280×720, you are good to go!
